Simple Plan é uma banda de pop punk do Canadá formada em Montreal em 1999. A banda alcançou o sucesso em 2002 com edição do álbum “No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls” depois de mais de 11 meses sem qualquer tipo de apoio de rádios ou televisões.
Apesar de todo o sucesso e da grande e sólida base de fãs que têm, o Simple Plan nunca conseguiu ter respeito por parte da crítica e dos amantes do “verdadeiro” punk. Estes o acusam de se vender, de não terem talento, da “voz irritante” do vocalista, de sua tendência ao emocore, entre outros.
Como o Simple Plan está constantemente a repetir, gostavam de ter algum respeito, mas não vão ser só algumas pessoas que os vão proibir de fazer o que adoram. “Não interessa se gritarem alto, eu vou gritar ainda mais.” (Pierre Bouvier). “Nós fazemos música para nós próprios e para as pessoas que gostam. O resto não tem de comprar os cds, nem vir aos concertos, nem usar t-shirts dos Simple Plan.” Disse um dos integrantes da banda.
