Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock é o quarto jogo da série Guitar Hero. Em maio de 2006, RedOctane, a distribuidora de Guitar Hero e Guitar Hero II foi adquirida pela Activision, por isso Guitar Hero III será distribuido pela Activision e até agora foi confirmado para PlayStation 2,PlayStation 3,Xbox 360, Wii,Celular, e PC
